Start with the wall you actually have

Think in stages, not in one final answer
Two people sharing a room today may need very different storage in three years. A modular wardrobe system lets you start with what you need and add on later — extra shelves, rods, baskets or drawers — rather than committing to a full build now.
Where the budget usually goes
- Hanging length — the single thing people most often underestimate
- Shelving for folded items, bags and bedding
- Drawers or baskets for smaller items
- Enclosure, if you want doors or curtains (quoted separately)
Questions worth answering before you commit
- How much of your clothing is hung versus folded?
- Is anyone sharing this wardrobe, now or later?
- Do you want the wall free for a study desk or cot in future?
- Would you rather spend less now and add on when you know more?
Bottom line: plan for the wall you have and the household you'll be in three years, not just the one you're moving in with.
